Building Four Blues

Four Blues is an anime-inspired pirate RPG in development at Melo Interactive. Work began with combat and traversal, then expanded into Devil Fruits, Haki, boats, swimming and the islands that connect them.

Melo acquired the project in 2025. The development work documented here includes interface changes, sound design and additional combat styles, alongside the systems needed to support quests and progression.

From systems to a playable world

Combat and movement provide the foundation. Bosses, quests, progression and encounters give players reasons to explore and return. Testing these systems together is part of preparing the game for a wider audience.
