Building connections: our 2025-2026 event journal

From Gamescom, a partnership dinner in London and RDC in 2025 to GDC, GeekOut, Gamescom and RDC in 2026. The people and places behind our growing network.

Our event journal follows two years of meeting developers, partners and people across the games industry. It began with Gamescom, London and RDC in 2025. In 2026, we returned to the road for GDC, GeekOut, Gamescom and RDC, where we spoke at Roblox's Demo Day.

2025: Gamescom, Cologne

Yann traveled to Cologne on a solo visit to Gamescom in August 2025. He spent the trip meeting developers and publishers, exploring games on the show floor and getting to know people working beyond the Roblox community.

2025: a partnership dinner in London

On August 28, Yann met with Christos Grivas, Melo's COO, and Alphirex, the owner of Holy War X and our co-development partner on Reaping. We had dinner at Hélène Darroze at The Connaught.

The conversation centered on our partnerships and the work ahead, including Reaping and Holy War X. Spending time together outside a production call gave us room to talk through the projects and how we wanted to work together.

2025: RDC, San Francisco

We attended RDC on September 5-6, 2025. Between Roblox's platform announcements, developer sessions and community events, we met other creators and discussed the work happening across the platform.

Those conversations helped inform our approach to partnerships as we headed into the following year.

2026: GDC, San Francisco

Our GDC trip brought us together with people working across investment, publishing and game operations. We met Angela Dalton and Signum Growth, JP Isham from Xsolla, Mike Duffy and John Cannata from Do Big Studios, and the Chartis team.

For a studio building and operating Roblox games, making time for these conversations is part of the job. GDC gave us a chance to meet people in person across several parts of the industry, alongside our day-to-day work on games.

The 2026 GDC Festival of Gaming took place in San Francisco from March 9 to 13.

2026: GeekOut in April

In April, we attended GeekOut's event and met its founder, Hiroshi. It was another opportunity to spend time with people building businesses around Roblox and to get to know the team behind GeekOut.

2026: Gamescom, a lighter community visit

Gamescom was a more relaxed trip for us this year. We spent time with people in the community, including Stephen Dypiangco at his Max Power Gaming mixer.

The UGC Gaming Mixer brought creators and people working in UGC gaming together during Gamescom 2026, held in Cologne from August 26 to 30. For us, the value was in catching up and making time for the community away from a busy production schedule.

2026: RDC and Demo Day

We attended RDC on September 9-12, 2026. We spoke at Roblox's Demo Day, where we showcased our games and pitched to VCs and investors.
